If you are 18 or older and your ministry interacts or serves children (under age 18) then you must complete the safety procedures for "Protecting God's Children".
VIRTUS: Is the first step in "Protecting God's Children". You attend a VIRTUS training class once (not yearly). It is a 3 hour class and you must sign up for the class before you can volunteer.

Code of Conduct: This is a required for from the archdioscese. This for concerns your behavior as a volunteer.

Click on Protecting Children; when you put the cursor on Protecting Children, there is a drop down box and you need to click on Office for the Protection of Children and Youth.
Then click on Compliance for Clergy, Employees, and Volunteers (left hand side of the screen) (Criminal Background check/eappsNirtus, Etc.).
There you will find information about background checks, CANTS form and Code of Conduct. When you click on background check (eapps), there is a place for first-time users to click in order to create a user ID and password.
Then proceed to fill out the information needed and hit "Submit."
